Bayern Munchen Ready To Extinguish Manchester Utd Euro Dreams

Manchester United might have luck on its side as Bayern Munich’s hopes of beating them in the Champions League have been beset by injury problems. At stake is a place in the semi finals of the prestigious competition. The big prize awaits both teams as they always measure success not only on domestic titles but also what they can achieve in Europe. On the table will be the German club’s desire to settle some old scores with the Red Devils that dates back 11 years ago. Then the Bundesliga champions fell to a late strike from Man Utd as they lost the Champions League trophy to two late goals scored by the English Premier League team.

There has been bad news on the injury front for Bayern Munich as reports have surfaced that Dutchman Arjen Robben could miss out. A calf injury has laid the winger down as he continues to battle injuries while his team’s offense could suffer without him. Their season turned on its head earlier in the year after Robben’s arrival and the Dutchman’s precise passes and speed will weaken manager Louis Van Gaal’s hand if he is to miss the match. The Germans are masters at showsmanship and one can never fully expect the real extent of the situation until the match starts. Robben could yet recover in time to feature against Man United.

There is no such concern for Manchester United as things are looking bright. Two important players in Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand have been passed fit to take their place in the team. The Red Devils continued to have their players return from injury with Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs set to feature against the club they played against in that classic 1999 Champions League final. The two will also be part of Alex Ferguson’s plans although they might not start in the Man United vs Bayern Munich live football due to age. Regardless of the decisions that Ferguson will make, it would not affect the game that is sure to be a special one.
